Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
The Joint Entrance Examination or JEE (Main) is an engineering examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). In the former years, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was responsible for conducting the national-level examination. From the year, 2019, however, the NTA was assigned the responsibility of managing the crucial examination. The JEE exam is applicable for admission to prestigious engineering institutes in the country such as NITs, IITs, and CFTIs.
The JEE (Main) is also an eligibility examination for JEE (Advanced) which is solely responsible for admission to IITs.

Paper 1
Paper 1 contains two sections; Section A and Section B. Section A includes multiple choice questions (MCQs) and Section B includes questions whose answers are to be filled as a numerical value. Additionally, for Section B the students only have to attempt any 5 five questions out of 10.
A negative marking system is applicable for both sections.
